Gen Z Trusts ChatGPT More Than Their Bosses (And Honestly, Same)

Let’s face it, we all know corporate life is a soul-numbing charade where ‘synergy’ is dead inside and every ‘quick sync’ is just a calendar-shaped cry for help.

So it should surprise approximately no one that Gen Z — the TikTok generation raised on memes and existential dread — has officially decided that ChatGPT, an AI trained on the internet’s collective overshare, is a better mentor than their actual manager.

According to a new report (read: digital tea), Gen Z workers are choosing an artificial intelligence over Real Human Leadership™ to ask awkward workplace questions.

Why?

Because ChatGPT doesn’t judge, call HR, or book 1-on-1s that double as performance autopsies.

They’re dropping inquiries about raises, quitting, and “how not to lose my mind in a cubicle farm” into a chatbot instead of risking cringey watercooler politics.

Because when you’ve grown up watching boomers mistake Excel for magic, you learn to trust the non-human option.

Some key reasons for the AI preference?

Privacy.

Convenience.

And let’s not forget: ChatGPT isn’t going to gaslight you with ‘We’re a family!’ five minutes before mass layoffs.

So while Boss Man is still mastering 'Reply All', Gen Z is busy optimizing their careers one neural-net-powered pep talk at a time.

The corporate hierarchy is being reshaped — by a chatbot with better work-life boundaries and 0% chance of asking you to stay late ‘just this once.’ In other words, we’ve officially entered the era where the intern's real mentor is a machine that doesn’t even collect PTO.

And honestly?

That’s probably an upgrade.
